Intex Excursion 5 Boat Set Review
my family and i moved to south florida over the summer and we have a large canal behind the house. ever since we moved in i've been dying to get something i can call my own in the water so i can enjoy the lake down the canal. i finally pulled the trigger on this fine little boat.
the #1 reason i bought this boat was because of the sweet price tag. 0 shipped overnighted w/prime was the slickest i could get with such a large boat.
once the boat came, it was pretty simple to get things figured out. there are 3 air chambers and they are clearly marked in the order in which to pump. *** buy an automatic air pump *** It is a choir to pump this thing up to say the least. imho, it's absolutely necessary. the manual pump is good for if it's been a cool night and the pressure drops slightly and you need a quick pump.
the material is very strong and the paddles are ok i guess. it's "sturdyish", what i had expected in an inflatable boat without a floor. im not too big on rowing this thing. i'm meeting someone off craigslist this afternoon to pick up a trolling motor for it. another good idea is to pick up a small anchor, it works perfect when you find a good fishing spot ;)
the boat has 4 holders for fishing poles, which is prob the coolest thing. every time i ride down the canal to the lake, there is someone looking at me funny and they say "is that an inflatable boat??" it is really a great fishing boat, tons of room for equipment, motor, cooler, all for 2 people very comfortably. i took my 2 kids out on it and we still had plenty of room.
so all in all, if you strapped for cash but REALLY want to get out on the water, get this thing. worth every penny.

It's a start... - Thezoo46052 -
So far i have had this out in the water ten or so times. I have never had more than two people fishing in it at the same time, and would not recommend more than three adults fishing in it at once. Also, if you are going to have anything else in the boat, like fishing gear, battery for motor, bucket, anchor... two adults comfortably, not sure about more though. When fully inflated per instructions, it is a bit flimsy, soft, under inflated even? I don't know what the solution to this is other than giving it a bit more air. It has yet to blow up and with the extra air, it is a little more ridged. *(Extra- build a solid floor for it. I used a 4x8 sheet of plywood, cut it in half and took some off each end and the sides so they fit, sanded them smooth, covered both halves in plastic... Now it has a solid floor which should be an option already.)* This is matched with a 30lb Minnkota, which moves it pretty quick at full power. I use a Coleman electric air mattress pump to inflate and deflate this beast. It takes about ten minutes to inflate it, and all the seats. It seems to be holding up well to all the abuse of fishing, inflating, deflating, scraping it along the boat launch... It's a start, great for fishing ponds and small lakes/bays, maybe a tender/dingy. Not sure if i would get to far away from land though... all in all a fun, good deal.
